John walker captain america3/15/2023 It's like Gruenwald decided that killing his old friends was a bridge too far and if USAgent was ever going to be redeemed as a superhero, they would have to get rid of that part of his backstory, so despite CLEARLY killing them, it was slightly changed (not necessarily retconned, though) to them not dying at that moment. 'John' Walker is a former Captain of the United States Armys 75th Rangers Regiment who was chosen to succeed Steve Rogers as the second Captain America. USAgent then decides that he has to just be be a better person to redeem himself, as he is now remorseful for their deaths. A terrorist group known as the Watchdogs had fought against the new Captain America early in his tenure as Cap, and now that they knew his real name, the terrorists took Walkers parents hostage. So far, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been all about the legacy of Captain America and the symbol behind the shield, but the show's most hated character might have been correct in his assessment of the mantle. However, they then both killed themselves because they were disfigured and in constant pain from being burned by the flames of the explosion. John Walker made terrible mistakes in his short time as Captain America, but he was enabled by his superiors. The patriotic flag flier U.S.Agent loves his country so much, he undergoes experimentation to gain superhuman strength and better fight.
